Coding with Drones

Upper Elementary, Middle & High School Students

In this course, you and your students will go on an exploration of how Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) work. Through a series of activities that support inquiry and hands-on learning, students will develop an understanding of how drones function and the real-world purposes for which they are used. Students will learn how to code in the Tello application to program drone flight.

Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

INTRO TO 3D PRINTING

Upper Elementary, Middle & High School Students

This course is designed for beginners to gain an understanding of how a 3D printer works, as well as the process of going from a blank 3D design canvas to a full physical print out and make your ideas come to life. Students will learn how to build and modify through Tinkercad and use Thingiverse to download items for print or modifications that are created by others. Students will keep all of their printed materials.

Airplanes and Drones

Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

In this course, you and your students will go on an exploration of aerodynamics and aeronautics. Through a series of activities that support inquiry and hands-on learning, students will develop an understanding of how physical forces enable airplanes and drones to take flight. Students will design and fly paper airplanes, learn coding basics, and practice their precision flight skills as they complete a series of challenges with the drone.

Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

INTRO TO ROBOTICS

Upper Elementary, Middle & High School Students

In this course, you and your students will go on an exploration of robotics. Through a series of activities that support inquiry and hands-on learning, students will develop an understanding of how robots function and the purposes for which they are used. Students will learn how to code in the mBlockly application and program their own mBot robots. The final lessons of the course include a team competition in which students will apply the skills they’ve learned and a debate in which students consider important ethical questions around the use of robots in the modern world.
