OUR COURSES

INTRO TO 3D PRINTING

This course is designed for beginners to gain an understanding of how a 3D printer works, and the process of going from a blank 3D design canvas to a full physical print out and make ideas come to life. Students will learn how to build and modify through Tinkercad and use Thingiverse to download items for print, or modify projects created by others. Students will keep all the printed materials.

Coding with Drones

This course is an exploration in how Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) work. Through a series of activities that support inquiry and hands-on learning, students will develop an understanding of how drones function and the real-world purposes for which they are used. Students will have opportunity to learn how to code in the Tello application to program drone flight.

INTRO TO ROBOTICS

Students will develop an understanding of how robots function and the purposes for which they are used through a series of activities that support inquiry and hands-on learning. Students will learn how to code in the mBlockly application and program their own mBot robots. The final lessons of the course include a team competition in which students will apply the skills they’ve learned and a debate in which students consider important ethical questions around the use of robots in the modern world.

Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

Coding skills

Students will have opportunity to learn how to code using block-based visual programming languages to operate robots and drones

HANDS-ON APPROACH

Students will  control their own drones and robots, and see their 3D designs come alive

Team work

Students will work together in teams, using the skills they have learned to overcome real challenges.
