Intermediate Learners I STEM 6-8 Programming
Analyze emerging technologies uses and evaluate their affordances and effectiveness in the real world.
Analyze emerging technologies uses and evaluate their affordances and effectiveness in the real world.
Research shows that early exposure to STEM has a positive impact across the entire spectrum of learning.
Our curriculum integrates ideas across branches of knowledge while engaging students with a hands-on approach.
We design our programs to fit in with your teaching environment and help you implement them in-school or after-school.
Skill Level: Intermediate
This course explores: What can a robot do? and How can it be coded to do so? Through inquiry-based and hands-on learning activities, learners will apply their knowledge of how robots’ function, and code in the mBlockly application to program their own mBot robots for a specific purpose. Hardware required.
Skill Level: Intermediate
This course is an exploration of the applications of drones in the real world. Through a series of inquiry-based and hands-on learning activities, students will integrate algebraic thinking, programmatic knowledge, and use case scenario abstraction to control through the Tello application. This course uses Scratch based coding. Hardware required.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Students will learn how 3D printers work, practical applications of 3D printing, and technical details. Students will learn how to build, orient, cost out, and modify through Tinkercad and use Thingiverse to download items for print, or modify projects created by others. Hardware required.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Students explore the billions of physical devices around the world that are now connected to the internet, collecting and sharing data. Using engineering design and block coding, students design their own IoT device for uses in society. Hardware required.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Students explore what makes something an invention and study the history of some inventions that have shaped our way of life. Students learn problem-identification, problem-solving and creativity skills. Hardware required.
