Wow! That's Cool! 3D Printed Houses!

It only took 23 hours and 12 minutes to 3-D print this house, aptly named “The Sphere”.

Isn't that awesome?!

It was designed by architect Masayuki Sono and actually meets local earthquake standards and European insulation.

The sphere uses a 20-metric ton reinforced concrete frame and it measures 10 square meters which exempts it from Japan’s building regulations.

Serendix, the company behind this incredible project, hopes to shorten the sphere’s construction time even further.

Believe it or not, 3D printed houses are a big promise for the construction industry, as they could be a major game changer.

The White House has stated that the US currently has a housing shortage of around 4 million homes. There might be several reasons for that; but in some places, houses just can't be built fast enough. Habitat for Humanity believes giant 3D printers could make a great difference.

What do you think? Would you like to have one of these ones?
