Introduction to Robots:
What is a robot?

Skill Level: Early Learner, Grades K-2
Early learners answer the questions, “What are robots?” “How do they work?” and “What can they do?” Young learners are encouraged to combine creative thinking and intrinsic motivation using cutting-edge technology to problem-solve and go on adventures with Colby, the Code & Go® Robot Mouse. By exploring how their own body works and is controlled by messages from the brain to their arms and legs, students develop a basic understanding of how a robot works.

Discovery of Drones: Unmanned Aviation

Skill Level: Beginner, Grades 3-5
Beginner learners answer the questions, “What is the history of Unmanned Aviation?” and “How do drones work?” Students learn how to program drone flight through coding in the TelloEDU application. Students learn to operate drones safely in manual and autonomous flight scenarios. Students develop and expand block-coding skillsets to diversify the tasks that drones are able to accomplish. Finally, students will simulate a real-world autonomous delivery scenario.

Exploration of 3D Development: Using Tinkercad

Skill Level: Intermediate, Grades 6-8
Students answer questions such as, “What is the Engineering Design process?” and “How can I use it to design in 3D printing for a purpose?” In this course, students explore the applications, technical requirements, and limitations of 3D printing. Students will demonstrate proficiency in using different Tinkercad tools that take their idea from a blank 3D design canvas to a full physical print out.

Creation & Evaluation of Advanced Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence

Skill Level: Advanced, Grades 9-12
In this course, students will learn about the prevalence, applications, and potential for computers and artificial intelligence. As they gain an understanding of the importance and challenges of image analysis and build data sets in order to train machine learning algorithms, students will consolidate their knowledge through machine learning and augmented reality applications. From facial recognition to autonomous cars, they will discover that computers and artificial intelligence are everywhere around us!
