WEBINAR -

Practical Strategies for New York City Leaders/Educators Expanding STEM and CTE

NYC schools are trying to expand STEM, STEAM and CTE programs, but real challenges slow this work across the city. New York City continues to face a serious shortage of qualified STEM teachers because the local tech industry hires faster than schools can recruit. Many NYC school buildings are aging and do not have the electrical capacity needed for robotics, drones, AI tools or modern lab equipment. NYC DOE procurement processes create long delays for technology purchases and classroom materials. Overcrowded classrooms limit the amount of hands-on learning schools can offer. STEM and CTE readiness also varies from borough to borough, which creates uneven access for students across New York City.

This webinar helps NYC principals, district leaders and school decision makers learn practical ways to improve STEM and CTE programs in real New York City conditions. The session explains how NextWaveSTEM supports schools with hands-on curriculum in robotics, AI literacy, drones, cybersecurity, renewable energy, 3D printing, laser cutting and agricultural science. All programs align with federal and state standards including Common Core, NGSS, CSTA and ISTE. All courses are available in English and Spanish.

Attendees will learn how to bring modern STEM technology into schools with limited space, older infrastructure and ongoing staffing shortages. The focus is on simple implementation, ready to teach curriculum and support systems that match the needs of NYC public schools and community school districts.
