NWS Curriculum Developer

We are looking for a nimble, creative, and organized Curriculum Specialist to join our growing product development team on a contract basis. This role will support the development of NextWave STEM’s K-12 emerging technologies curriculum such as robotics, drones, 3-D printing, Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies. The curriculum specialist will serve as an expert in content, standards, assessments. 

The Curriculum Specialist collaborates with the Chief Learning Officer and other Curriculum Specialists in the preparation, design, and development of content and assessments for K-12 learners. 

Responsibilities

  • Create innovative and engaging learning experiences.

  • Design and development of curriculum and assessments.

  • Construct and outline lessons and assessments aligned with national standards with a focus on Discovery Learning and Universal Design Learning.

  • Ongoing review of content and assessments created by content writers, making strategic recommendations for quality products.

  • Work directly with leadership to coordinate timelines and deliverables for course curriculum as well as manage curriculum timelines.

  • Work collaboratively with Product team members.

  • Review and identify vendors that provide quality content and/or assets.

  • Must maintain efficiency by meeting deliverable timelines, schedule and coordinate meetings, utilize resources, and communicate with respect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design or related field.

  • Previous curriculum development experience preferred.

  • Interest and curiosity for technology and innovation.

  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: Scratch, Tinkercad, Artificial Intelligence, Javascript, Python

  • Understanding of STEM and STEAM in K-12 education environments.

  • Experience with the state and national standards in STEM.

  • Valid teaching certification in any subject/state, preferred.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
