For use in Beginner Learners, grades 3-5, course “Discovery of 3D Design” using Tinkerkad offered by NextWave STEM.

In this course, beginner learners answer the questions, “What is Computer-Aided Design?” and “How does it work with 3D Printing?” Students will learn how to build and modify designs through Tinkercad and use Thingiverse to download items for print.

Skills Covered: Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Analytical Thinking, Sequential Thought Process, Directional Concepts, Visual Tracking and 2-D to 3-D Correspondence

How it Works: The MiniDelta is small, but mighty. It stands just 15” tall and is less than 10” deep. This is the ideal desktop printer for beginners. It has a very small footprint, a cool appearance, and more importantly, a higher top speed than many of its rivals. This does mean that it’s a touch louder, but it’s still quiet enough to use in a classroom setting. In addition to PLA and ABS, this printer can create models with PETG (the plastic used in drinks bottles) and wood-infused filaments (although this requires a metal nozzle). This gives you much better flexibility in terms of what you can build – perfect for beginners or those looking to push the limits of entry-level 3D printers.

Key Benefits: Help students experience STEM through hands-on activities and experiments while challenging them to think critically, solve problems effectively, and acquire the skills needed to enter STEM-related fields.
