For use in Intermediate Learners, grades 6-8, course, “Exploration of the Internet of Things: Designing an IoT Device” using mBlock offered by NextWave STEM.

In this course, students will explore example IoT applications and plan a project to solve problems for an end user. Educational platforms, students’ laptops, and smartphones are all part of the IoT. With IoT, everything is coming online, including homes, cars, people, medical devices, even farming equipment. And there are endless examples of IoT solutions being applied in school environments.

How it Works: Halocodes are wireless single board computers. They have built-in Wi-Fi and are designed for educational programming. It is made up of electronic modules that when paired with block-based programming software allows students to experience AI and IoT applications in a fun and easy way.
